To earn a College Prep academic diploma, students must complete a minimum of 23.5 credits.
Students earn one credit for each 36-week (one-year) course and a half credit for each 18-week (semester) course. The course requirements shown below provide a foundation from which students may begin planning their upper school course selection.
College admissions policies and academic requirements vary widely. In collaboration with their College Counselor, students will build a personalized plan for graduation based on their interests and academic, college and career goals.

When students have identified Mati Talent Institute as their school of record, it means that they receive the benefits associated with full-time enrollment. As the school of record, Mati Talent Institute provides proof of enrollment and retains students’ cumulative academic files, which for Upper School students is recorded on the Mati Talent Institute transcript. Full-time Lower and Middle School students must enroll in a minimum of 5 courses which includes English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health and Physical Education. Full-time Upper School students must meet the 23.5 credits required for graduation. Full-time Upper School students enrolled for 10 months must enroll in a minimum of 4 credits consisting of 3 credits from the core subject areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language) and 1 credit from either the core or elective subject areas. A 0.5 credit grade level specific Seminar course is required for each year of Upper School. To fulfill Mati Talent Institute graduation requirements, Upper School students typically enroll in 5-7 credits per 10-month enrollment. Upper School students enrolled for 5 months must enroll in a minimum of 2 credits consisting of 1.5 credits from the core subject areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language) and 0.5 credit from either the core or elective subject areas. At the discretion of the Education Department, Mati Talent Institute will accept grade 12 full-time applicants and grade 12 part-time students who wish to transfer to Mati Talent Institute full-time.
